Valentine's Day

I just want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day and this marks my half way point through my challenge. I had to claim a BUY last night from going out with work - but still have three left if need be. As promised I have donated £5 to the BHF - only 14 days left now!

Two Weeks In

On Feb 1st I set myself the challenge to not have any takeaways for the month. This includes pizza shops, Chinese takeaways, Nando's (oh no :-(), pub meals, curries, parmos, kebabs and the like.
I have four buys each costing £5 each - this enables me to go to a restaurant to eat if need be. The reason why this is so is because I have planned a trip to Leeds and I am staying in a hotel - and if I don't eat I'll starve! The buys cost me £5 to be donated to the designated charity (which is British Heart Foundation) and will count towards the total.

A lot of people reckon they could do this easily and power to them if they can, but something like Dry January would be really easy for me, takeaways, however is hitting me where it hurts. I could have 3 or four a week and I would really miss them if they weren't there.

I start the challenge on 1st Feb at 00.00 and it ends 23.59 on 28th Feb 2015.

I started the challenge as planned on 1st Feb weighing 14st 6lb....

End of Week One:  I weighed 14st 1 1/2 - I had lost 5 1/2 lbs in a week.

This isn't going as bad this week as I have been keeping myself busy and taking sandwiches everywhere.  I have been cooking at home when I can and I am still valid for the challenge. I gave myself four Buys for restaraunts, but to be honest, I was amazed that I didn't need to use one in Leeds last weekend. I am, however, going to have to call one in for tonight as it's a team night out and its a meal out too. I'll try and minimise the damage, but if it wasn't for the fact we were celebrating 3 birthdays and there's only about 10 of us in the team, I really couldn't say no. I think that there's an extra £5 to BHF then!

Have you donated yet? I hope you do.

Weighed myself this week and I have lost again this time I'm 13st 12 3/4. That's another 2 1/2 lbs or so I've lost. I can't believe it.

See you next week with another update and I want to thank you for sponsoring me.

One Week In

Hi guys

I've been slacking on the writing front and I have not been keeping an internet log of my progress. This is gonna be a big update, then I will have little tiddly ones from then on.

Okay - here we are:

I started the challenge as planned on 1st Feb weighing 14st 6lb.

The first few days were frustrating, but it wasn't until late Wednesday night (4th Feb) that I got the urge for a burger after passing McDonalds and the wafting smell emanated into my car. I managed to evade it, but it made me feel bad.

Thursday was the most evil day yet - on 5th Feb it was when I finished work - regardless my brother and I ALWAYS get take out (usually Chinese or a kebab) on  a Thursday night. I didn't.

Earlier in the week, to get me sorted a bit better I chose to detox and juice - so from Tues 3rd to Thur 5th Feb I was doing the Jason Vale Juicemaster 3 day detox. It was very good - and helped me not eat take out for those three days.

Friday was fine but problems assumed. I stayed back for a double shift at work and had no food for the evening shift! Okay, I thought, this is where I order pizza! I didn't - I bought some chicken boobies from Morrisons and cooked them for my tea.  I weighed myself on Friday too. I weighed 14st 1 1/2 - I had lost 5 1/2 lbs in a week.

Saturday was a challenge as I went to a comic con, and my friend was wanting some burger or other so I sent him off to get it while I supped on a coke I brought with me and waited in line to see the celebrity.

Sunday was the day I thought would be difficult. A morning visit to the cinema (which ALWAYS entails a Nando's or a McD's depending on company and available funds) and was again tempting me with the golden arches. After that I headed to Leeds which I packed some peanut butter sandwiches to have for supper. It was a good job as the event finished at 10.30pm and the easiest thing would be to stop at that Chinese Takeaway for some supper, but no, I got back to the hotel - gobbled some peanut butter sarnies and went to bed.

Monday. Today. This included a visit to both York and Leeds and my friend visited a hot roast pork Hog Roast van TWICE! Each time I was tempted, but I stuck with the sliced meat and nuts I had purchased from the supermarket previously. It's not 23.19 and I'm going to bed. It's been 9 days and I'm still on it with no buys used. I'm doing ok. Just don't get angry with me if I greet "D'ya fancy a kebab" with a loud resounding "NO!".
